Augmented Reality

Augmented reality allows a person to add another layer to an existing image.  To put this into perspecitve, imagine holding your phone over a poster that is on the wall as if you were going to take snap a photo of that poster. Once you do that then instantly a video starts playing that offers you additional information about what is on that poster. It is very magical!!! I love it = )

One of my favorite technology tools is SoundGecko which allows you to turn your favorite websites, blogs and documents into audio. I have truly enjoyed this program and I am sure you and your students will as well.

There are so many great uses for SoundGecko in the classroom. It is a great way to differentiate learning in your classroom and meet the needs of all your learners.

It is FREE!!

You download the app on your mobile device.

What a great find! Check out the Getty Museum as it has put more than 250 art books online for anyone to read online and or download. You can find all of these books in the Getty Publications Virtual Library. I love that you can search through the collection by author, keyword, or title. You can find all of the free books on Google Books.

The Getty Publications Virtual Library could be a great resource for art teachers and their students. Students who are researching artists and or art movements could consult the collection to find reference materials. I also love the fact that you can embed the books on a blog or website for easy access.

This is definitely something you want to bookmark in your favorites.

Also check out Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection of nearly 400 free art history books. This links also provides access to over 25,000 free images of art you can re-use.
